Story
About Our Founder
Domonique R. Jett is the Founder and Executive Director of JetLife Foundation, Founder of JetLife Drone Academy, and the creative visionary behind JetLife Media. A native of Hartsville, South Carolina, Domonique has dedicated his career to using creativity, technology, and education to inspire the next generation.
From an early age, Domonique developed a passion for photography, videography, design, and creative storytelling. Throughout school, he naturally became the person classmates and teachers relied on for creative projects, presentations, and media production. What began as a personal passion soon evolved into a lifelong mission of creating opportunities for others.
Growing up in a low-income community taught Domonique the value of resilience, determination, and innovation. Rather than allowing his circumstances to define his future, he chose to build something greater—not only for himself, but for the communities that shaped him. He recognized that creativity and technology could become powerful tools for education, career development, and economic opportunity.
In 2014, Domonique discovered the rapidly growing world of drone technology and began flying drones long before they became mainstream. What started as a passion for aerial photography quickly developed into years of experience exploring how unmanned aircraft systems could be used across industries including photography, filmmaking, construction, agriculture, public safety, mapping, inspections, and education. Today, he is an FAA Part 107 Certified Remote Pilot, continuing to expand his knowledge while helping others discover the possibilities of drone technology.
Building on that passion, Domonique founded JetLife Media in 2016 as a creative media company specializing in photography, videography, aerial imaging, branding, creative direction, and digital content creation. Over the years, JetLife Media has partnered with individuals, businesses, and organizations to capture meaningful stories and produce high-quality visual content while establishing a reputation for professionalism, innovation, and community engagement.
As his experience with drones continued to grow, Domonique recognized a larger need within his community. He saw that many young people had never been exposed to drone technology or the exciting career paths connected to aviation, engineering, filmmaking, mapping, public safety, and entrepreneurship. Wanting to bridge that gap, he launched the JetLife Drone Academy through the JetLife Foundation as a way to give back to the community and create life-changing opportunities for youth and aspiring drone pilots.
Today, the JetLife Drone Academy serves as the Foundation's flagship educational program, introducing students of all ages to the world of drones through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Participants gain practical flight experience while learning about drone safety, FAA regulations, STEM education, career pathways, entrepreneurship, and responsible drone operations. The Academy's mission extends far beyond teaching students how to fly—it is designed to build confidence, develop technical skills, inspire innovation, and open doors to careers that many participants never knew existed.
Through the JetLife Foundation, Domonique is committed to removing barriers to technology education by partnering with schools, community centers, nonprofits, churches, municipalities, and youth-serving organizations throughout South Carolina and beyond. His long-term vision is to expand access to drone education nationwide, helping thousands of young people discover new passions, develop valuable workforce skills, and pursue meaningful careers in the rapidly growing aviation and technology industries.
Whether behind a camera, operating a drone, teaching a classroom of future pilots, or mentoring the next generation of innovators, Domonique's mission remains the same:
To inspire, educate, and create pathways to success through technology, creativity, and flight.
